An immediate post-primary Public Policy Polling survey (8/15-16; 600 WI registered voters) found the new Democratic gubernatorial nominee, Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Evers, jumping out to a quick 49-44% advantage over two-term Gov. Scott Walker (R). Wisconsin Democrats have been on the move in the off-year 2017 elections, so this result is of little surprise, especially immediately after a Democratic primary concluded featuring ten candidates. There is little doubt that this campaign will end in a close finish.
