State Sen. Daylin Leach (D-King of Prussia) is reportedly preparing to launch a congressional challenge to four-term Rep. Pat Meehan (R-Chadds Ford) and will announce his campaign later this month. Sen. Leach will be a major upgrade over the most recent Meehan opponents. In his four US House elections, the Congressman has averaged 58.7%.
Pennsylvania redistricting is looming large on the horizon because a potentially serious lawsuit has been filed in state court. Should a re-draw be ordered, the southeastern section of the state could see a major realignment. Mr. Meehan’s district is likely to be at ground zero for the redistricting fight, appearing with its meandering territory and craggily boundaries in addition to seeing Hillary Clinton win here by slightly more than two percentage points.
