A new Gravis Marketing poll for the Breitbart News site (7/6-10; 563 NJ likely voters) finds former pharmaceutical executive Bob Hugin (R) pulling to within a 43-41% margin of Sen. Bob Menendez (D) despite heavy advertising attacking the former man for prices and availability of various life-saving medication. Hugin, who has ingested at least $7.5 million of his own money into his campaign, has countered with his own messages attacking Sen. Menendez over ethics. The reference, of course, is the Grand Jury indictments brought against the Senator that resulted in a hung jury, dismissal of charges, and finally the government folding their case.
The New Jersey race is now coming into focus as a more competitive race. Originally, it was thought of as a second tier contest, but such perception is beginning to change.
