Rep. Martha McSally (R-Tucson) has performed well in this politically marginal southeast Arizona district, yet she is drawing a large number of 2018 opponents. The man she defeated last November with 57% even when Hillary Clinton was carrying the seat 50-45%, former state Rep. Matt Heinz (D), announced yesterday that he will return for another go. He becomes the sixth Democrat to already announce their candidacy. In addition to Mr. Heinz, former state Rep. Bruce Wheeler, and businessmen Billy Kovacs and Jeff Latas look to be the most significant candidates.
