Retired Army Ranger and law firm founder Bryant Messner (R) confirms he is considering entering the US Senate race against incumbent Jeanne Shaheen (D) now that Gov. Chris Sununu (R) has removed himself from consideration. Mr. Messner’s main weakness is that he lived in Colorado until last year when he moved to New Hampshire. He has, however, maintained a second home in the Granite State for the past dozen years.
Former state House Speaker Bill O’Brien (R) also confirms that he is close to a decision about running, but is not viewed as a major threat to Sen. Shaheen. Without Gov. Sununu’s presence in the race, Sen. Shaheen is a clear favorite to win a third term.
