The March 31st first quarter campaign finance posting period has passed, and the campaigns are preparing their disclosure reports for the April 15th reporting deadline. In anticipation of the filing, announced presidential candidates are beginning to release their fundraising totals.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) led all during the first part of 2019 with $18.2 million in receipts. Sen. Kamala Harris’ (D-CA) campaign spokespeople are saying that their candidate will report over $12 million in funds raised. South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg says his campaign has raised over $7 million, an impressive total from a previously unknown candidate. Most of the contributions to all of the candidates were small dollar and came in the form of online donations.
