With speculation swirling that Gov. Chris Sununu (R) may opt to challenge Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D) next year, potential Democratic gubernatorial aspirants are beginning to signal their intentions. Earlier, 2018 nominee Molly Kelly, who lost to Gov. Sununu in November 53-46%, made a public statement that she is seriously considering making another attempt.
Late last week, state Senate Majority Leader Dan Feltes (D-Concord) indicated that he is also contemplating a gubernatorial run and will make a final decision once the legislative session ends in late June. New Hampshire and neighboring Vermont are the only states that limit its Governor to two-year terms.
