US Rep. Ken Buck (R-Windsor/Greeley) was officially elected chairman of the Colorado Republican Party over the weekend, and immediately pledged not to run for any other elective office than the one he currently holds. Rumors abounded that Mr. Buck might want to use the chairmanship to vaunt himself into either the next Senate or Governor’s race, but Mr. Buck reiterated his intent to serve both as party chairman and a member of the US House.
In the coming election year, Colorado could again become a swing presidential state, and Sen. Cory Gardner (R) is expecting a tough re-election fight. Therefore, the Colorado GOP must again be a strong entity.
