Gov. Scott Walker (R) attracted his first official Democratic challenger yesterday as businessman Andy Gronik (D), a wealthy first-time candidate who is already sending out conflicting signals, formally declared his candidacy. He first indicated that he would not self-fund his own campaign, saying he “hates” such a tactic. Later, he said that he couldn’t ask anyone else to contribute to his campaign unless he was also investing his own capital. Mr. Gronik will have to improve his message if he is to seriously challenge the two-term Governor and former presidential candidate.
