In Wisconsin, 11-term Rep. Ron Kind (D-La Crosse) confirmed that he is considering challenging Gov. Scott Walker (R) next year. He is far from definitive about his political plans, but the Congressman certainly did not rule out running statewide. He indicated he is months away from making any final decision. Throughout his 20+ year career in the House, Mr. Kind has been talked about as a statewide candidate but has never jumped into any such campaign.
Rep. Kind represents the agriculture-dominated west-southwest section of Wisconsin, a region that supported President Trump 49-45% after backing former President Obama with an 11-point margin in 2012.
