Former Detroit Health Commissioner Adbul El-Sayed (D) released his Change Research internal survey (7/20-21; 1,503 MI likely Democratic primary voters) and finds former state House Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer (D) holding a 33-27-15% lead over himself and businessman Shri Thanedar. Democratic voters will make their official choice on Tuesday. The poll looked to be concentrating on the most left faction of the Democratic electorate, even making a distinction in the questioning between “Liberal” and “Progressive.” Though the pollsters indicate the sample is weighted to restore balance, it is likely that Ms. Whitmer’s advantage is greater than this poll suggests.
