Earlier we covered the University of Northern Florida new US Senate poll that categorized its respondents as “completed surveys” instead of adults, registered, or likely voters. They produced a 44-38% margin for Sen. Bill Nelson (D) over potential opponent Rick Scott (R), the state’s term-limited Governor.
Now, professional pollster Mason-Dixon Polling & Research releases their first Florida 2018 Senate poll and it largely draws the same conclusion. In this survey (2/24-28; 625 FL registered voters), Sen. Nelson leads the Governor, by a similar 46-41% spread. These early polls are a possible harbinger of yet another close statewide contest in what has become America’s premier swing state.
